How does a Sauna work?
Sauna sessions are beneficial to health: the alternation of dry, hot air followed by cool-down stimulates the metabolism and the immune system and thereby strengthens the body’s defences. Normally, a sauna works with temperatures between 80° and 100° C with dry air.
The high temperature opens the pores. This flushes toxic substances out of the body. The heat in the sauna makes the heart beat faster and stronger, creating a training effect that makes small blood vessels more flexible and thereby better to compensate high blood pressure.
For people with cardiovascular problems, it is advisable not to set the sauna above 65ºC.
