How does a Steam Bath work?
Steam baths, also called hamam or Turkish bath, relax body and mind. They are also very beneficial for health. They relieve muscle tension, soothe rheumatic complaints, cleanse the respiratory tract and are beneficial for skin and hair.
A steam generator produces damp heat, with temperatures not exceeding 50ºC. The steam opens the pores of the skin and therefore promotes perspiration and pore-deep cleansing. In addition, the deep relaxation produced by the steam provides a calming effect on the nervous system.
This effect can be enhanced with aromatherapy.
A steam bath is not the same as a sauna, as they each allow different treatment methods. However, they both have one feature in common: they stimulate perspiration, cleanse the skin and eliminate toxins.
